a dice-bound roguelike ascent

SERPENT&RUNG

The old board is awake. Five floors. One piece. Roll well.

How to Play

The Run

Climb five procedurally generated floors. Each floor is a winding board β€” roll the die, ride your piece tile by tile, and reach the gate tile to ascend. The gate demands an exact roll; overshoot and you bounce back.

Hazards

Serpents lie across the boards. Land on a skull-marked head tile and you will be seized and dragged down the body. Booby traps are hidden β€” collapsing tiles, dart totems, spring plates, geysers β€” and each costs blood and ground. Your Resolve (hearts) is your life across the whole run. At zero, the run ends.

Relics

Between floors you choose one of three relics β€” weighted dice, serpent wards, trap-sense, rerolls, twin dice and stranger things. Relics stack and bend the rules; build a run around them.

Good Fortune

Ladders haul you up the board. Shrines restore a heart. Gems feed your score. Everything else wants you dead.
